Replicating a Wordpress self hosted blog to Myspace, Facebook
Now to test the Myspace RSS feed reader. I posted a similar application on Facebook but don’t see the fruits of that yet. The Myspace app seems to work pretty well. I’m not sure if other people can subscribe to the feed like they can to your myspace blog though. Any thoughts?
Amazon 1 click = Crack?
The Amazon.com 1 click feature harvests the, “hmm, this is interesting - should I buy it? Well its only $X and its only 1 click. F-it.” type of thought. This is a great concept but dangerous too. If people start to catch on that whenever they even go to Amazon.com they make a purchase and if they’re using a site like Mint.com to review their financial activity, eventually the might think to themselves: “Wow, I am spending way too much on 1-click purchases, and should really go to the library more often”. If their library has the book in question. For those irregular purchasers it sure makes the “closing” part of selling a hell of a lot easier for Amazon.com. If a service like Pandora adopted this, I could see the same issue with music spending (good and bad, listen up Pandora…..).
Die Wordpress Meta Widget!
The wordpress Meta widget has been great in the past, but when trying to edit it, I was baffled, and after much frustration….DELETED! I used a basic HTML widget, with the two links I needed, which were the admin login and log out links. I am trying to integrate with feedburner better because i could not find a Wordpress plugin that manipulates RSS feeds natively in Wordpress to add the tools at the bottom of the RSS feed like “comments” “email this”, etc. Well now they’re on there if you are using the correct feed. If you don’t see it, update the feed using the buttons on the right toolbar. I’m not sure how many feed subscribers i actually have, so if you are switch to the feedburner feed to see the updates. Since I had posted previously about the quality of an RSS feed contributing to the likelihood of me reading it, I felt compelled to try and spruce mine up.
Asking for an Inflation Raise: The Inflation Salary Calculator.
See: Inflation Salary Calculator for a nice tool to calculate what you should be getting based on the beginning of the year starting salary. I think this is going to be a huge issue soon, with the rate of inflation where it is now, and if it continues at this pace, which it looks like it will be doing.
Website Maintenence, Virtual Assistant?
Could a Virtual Assistant (VA) do website maintenence. Yes. Am I still not comfortable with letting go of the reins due to th possible loss of content. Yes. Could I back up that information. Yes. There is just something about that that I don’t want to let go. Anyone have any direct experience with the use of a VA for maintaining their website?
