Wordpress Plugins: Are they slowing down your site? Also a few neat ones I just added
I removed some plugins that were significantly slowing down my site (I removed about four at once, so I don’t know which ones), and its running like a champ again.
I also added a few:
How to instantly double your Wordpress Blog traffic with 1 plugin
Of course, this 1 plugin is working in concert with my other plugins and it doesn’t hurt that I have the SEO plugin too. The plugin I’m talking about is the Global Translator plugin. Wow, the recent update of this plugin enables people to search in thier language and come up with your page that has been translated. This immediately doubled my Wordpress Blog traffic. I know this by using Google Analytics and seeing the keywords, and also seeing the pages viewed under content. The new version of this translates for 34 languages.

If its not about the iPhone, mobilecrunch isn’t that interested.
Wake up and smell the update, mobilecrunch. I sent a tip to techcrunch about the Samsung Instinct update when it actually happened and it took a week for mobilecrunch to post about it. Its a good thing I don’t rely on them for my Samsung Instinct info. See my original post here.
Google and Wordpress: The Connectors, Do It Again. Gmail, Wordpress Google Reader, & Google Chat.
So, I like to give props to Wordpress plugin and theme authors, so I sent an email to the author of the current theme, “Journalist”, Lucian from Romania. See the sidebar for the link under themes. Since Gmail is so cool, it archives anyone you send an email to as a contact, so when Lucian logged onto Gmail he poppes up on my Google Chat sidebar in Gmail. This is after he had shared his Google Reader shares with all of his contacts, which I was one of. What I thought was funny is that his shares were all in Romanian, so I thought I would tell him. He didn’t know what I was talking about at first, but this started a dialogue. So, thank you Wordpress and Google for continuing to connect us in this Small Small World! Does anyone have any similar stories?
Godaddy updated their site, YAY! Its about damn time.
It always baffled me that a site that sells domains and hosting would have such a choppy main page.
