Google and Wordpress: The Connectors, Do It Again. Gmail, Wordpress Google Reader, & Google Chat.
So, I like to give props to Wordpress plugin and theme authors, so I sent an email to the author of the current theme, “Journalist”, Lucian from Romania. See the sidebar for the link under themes. Since Gmail is so cool, it archives anyone you send an email to as a contact, so when Lucian logged onto Gmail he poppes up on my Google Chat sidebar in Gmail. This is after he had shared his Google Reader shares with all of his contacts, which I was one of. What I thought was funny is that his shares were all in Romanian, so I thought I would tell him. He didn’t know what I was talking about at first, but this started a dialogue. So, thank you Wordpress and Google for continuing to connect us in this Small Small World! Does anyone have any similar stories?
Way to go Google, with another sweet tool I didn’t see coming. Google Quotes comes at me while I’m reading Google News.
One awesome thing about Google is its self promoting style that actually helps the end user, like me. When I was surfing Google News aobut Warren Buffett, it pops up a little quotes link at the top. I click on it, and Jackpot! Exactly what I wanted. Its hard to find any up to date articles by Buffett, but more likely to be found are snippets, and this site provides exactly that.
Official Gmail Blog - Why so few feeders?
How many people use Gmail? Probably Millions. Yet only 49,949 people subscribe to the Gmail blog. Now I don’t feel as bad for only having like 20. I only recently subscribed. Maybe its just not that well advertised. It is in very small print at the bottom of the gmail page, along with some other misc. stuff.
Short Selling: a Defense, Naps at Work, Remote Offices
I linked a few articles below that I liked, usually I would just share them on Google Reader, and since I was on my mobile I couldn’t share them on Reader. I could ignore them but I found all 3 interesting.
Short Selling, a defense. This is the first defense of short selling I have seen.
Wordpress Plugins = Magical Goodness. Free Wordpress Shopping Cart Plugin
Wow. Wordpress continues to amaze me. For free, you get all these plugin and widget goodies. I haven’t used this plugin, because I’m not currently selling anything right now, but if I do, I now know where to go. Wordpress is revolutionizing the art of plug n play website management. Of course there are free website content managers out there, but for me, Wordpress is slick. Keep it up WP, and to all the developers who make the plugins!
Interview about Wordpress, Analytics, Virtual Assistant, Law of Attraction
Jim Littlefield interviewed me earlier. See the comment here. We are both proponents of the Four Hour Work Week.
